A Heartfelt Plea for Help by Priyanka Kandhar
One of the most inspiring stories at SNJ Charitable Trust is that of Priyanka Kandhar. Priyanka came from a needy family and had a strong desire to become a doctor. Her journey began in January 2019 when we received an email from her. Attached to Priyanka’s email was a detailed spreadsheet outlining how she planned to raise the enormous sum needed for her medical education. Each row in the spreadsheet represented a different strategy for gathering the required funds. However, what stood out the most was one particular row that indicated she was considering selling her mother’s jewelry for her dream of becoming a doctor. This was a heartbreaking revelation, showing the extent of the financial struggle her family was facing and the sacrifices they were willing to make to see her succeed.

Touched by Priyanka’s determination and the gravity of her situation, SNJ Charitable Trust sprang into action. We reached out to our network and, in no time, found two generous and kind-hearted sponsors willing to support Priyanka’s dream of pursuing medical education. Their contributions not only eliminated the financial burden on Priyanka’s family but also fueled her ambition to excel in her studies.
